For those refugees and migrants settling in a new country, studying the language is the first step to integrating into society. But what do you do if there are no resources with which to learn? For Somalis coming to Hungary, this is the exact situation they encounter upon arrival.

Abraham and Sarah, the newborn Jesus and the first Christians all experienced the compulsion to flee and the difficulties of integration, but all of them also knew the care of God. The Hungarian Bible Society and the Reformed Mission Centre have prepared a traveling exhibition that urges us to see the vulnerability of refugees.

The Celebration of Chance

Zoltán Balog, minister of Human Resources, presented several awards on 11 November, the Day of Social Work. The heads of the RCH's Homeless Ministry and Refugee Ministry as well as the Mohács-Kölked congregation social home and its director were among the recipients.

U.S. Teachers Excited to Teach in Hungarian Refugee Camps

The RCH is filled with joy to welcome a group of 10 U.S. teachers to Hungary from the Teach Overseas program. They will spend the summer teaching English at refugee camps in Debrecen, Bicske, Fót and at the Refugee Mission's new community center in Budapest.

A Celebration of World Refugee Day

A new United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) report states that the number of refugees and internally displaced people is at an 18-year high with the crisis in Syria being a leading factor. However, the RCH Refugee Mission decided to honor World Refugee Day in a more positive light.

An Exciting New Community Centre for the Refugee Mission

It is an extremely busy but exciting time for the RCH's Refugee Mission of the Reformed Mission Centre as it works to organize a newly acquired building in the heart of Budapest. The building will serve as the the Mission's new community centre.

The Ministration of American Volunteers Among Refugees

Ten teachers spent five weeks in the Bicske and Debrecen Refugee Reception Centres, in the Children's Centre in Fót, in the English Language Bible Study Camp organised by the Scottish Mission in Budapest and with the Roma Ministry in Jánd.
