Annamaria Apelt finished high school in 2019 and shortly after that she found herself in Budapest, as part of her social voluntary year. She volunteered with the Refugee Ministry of RCH, supporting the daily operation of RCH's implementing partner, the Kalunba Social Services Non-Profit.
Nancy Rosas served as a Student Intern with Kalunba Non-Profit, the implementing partner of RCH in the ministry among Refugees. Nancy spent 3 months in Budapest, helped out in administration and community building as well as in tutoring children.
"One could claim that Kalunba’s mission has nothing very much to do with environmental protection. Yet, all working at Kalunba seem to share an interest in and enthusiasm for finding ways to reuse and recycle what we can."
In honor of World Refugee Day, the CCME and the CEC shared a call for partner and member churches to remember those who have died on their journey to find a dignified life in Europe. The RCH joins the international initiative.
