WCRC Solidarity Visit

The WCRC European Area Steering Committee held its last meeting in Vilnius, Lithuania between 23 and 26 January. Last decisions and arrangements were made for the upcoming Area Council to be held in Warsaw, but solidarity was at the heart of the meeting.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity: the Anglican Perspective

The 18th of January marks in our church calendars the Festival Day of the Confession of Saint Peter and the beginning of each year's annual observance of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. By the way, "confession" in this context refers to Peter's acknowledgement, as recorded in Gospel of Matthew, that Jesus was indeed "the Messiah, the Son of the living God."

Updated: Battle Over Church-Owned Property Still Ongoing in Romania

The Dialogue Continues

The Church Revision Committee recently met to discuss the continuation of its revision process. It has decided to team up with the Synod Mission Committee and developed a working plan for this cooperation, which includes consultations based upon the suggestions of its last Synod report.

Reformed Church leaders met from the Carpathian Basin

Helpers Returned Home

The Celebration of Chance

Fall Synod Report 2013

The fall meeting of the General Synod of the RCH began on 14 November in Budapest. Several topics were on the docket for the meeting, including the Roma action plan, the findings of the Church Revision Committee and a discussion on the implication of the Leuenberg Agreement on church legal documents.

Celebrating the Heidelberg Catechism

To celebrate the Heidelberg Catechism's 450th anniversary, the Hungarian Reformed Church accepted a new Hungarian translation of the text and published a special edition of the Catechism containing the full text in the languages of Reformed congregations in the Carpathian Basin.

Hungarian Reformed Church Aid Medical Team Deployed to the Philippines

A medical team from the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid (HRCA) deployed to the Philippines on 11 November following the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan in order to deliver medical equipment and 15,000 dollars-worth of aid. The team left Hungary on Monday for the city of Tacloban.
