Opening of Diaconia Shop

On October 16th, the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid (HRCA) celebrated opening a new location for its “DIACONIA” brand at the Récsei Center in Budapest. With the establishment of this shop, HRCA marks a significant milestone in its economic development efforts associated with the Emerging Settlement Programme.

Hátrányos helyzetű és megváltozott munkaképességű munkatársak által készített, magas minőségi termékeket árusító bemutatóterem és márkabolt nyitotta meg kapuit ünnepélyes keretek között október 16-án a budapesti Récsei Centerben. A Diaconia márkának köszönhetően a Magyar Református Szeretetszolgálat által alapított Jobbadni Nonprofit Kft. egyre több rászoruló számára tud munkalehetőséget biztosítani az észak-magyarországi térségben.

HEKS Project Evaluation Workshop

On June 19th, representatives from Swiss Church Aid (HEKS), the Reformed Church in Hungary (RCH), the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid (HRCA), the Diaconia and Educational Service met to present and discuss two projects implemented in cooperation.

"Take Delight in the Lord, and He Will Give You the Desires of Your Heart"

The Diaconia of the Reformed Church in Hungary has become the country's largest afterschool operator after the Directorate-General for Social Inclusion deemed the operation of fourteen Reformed afterschools worthy of support for the next three-year period. The afterschools, which serve local children from typically difficult circumstances, include some that have been in operation for nearly a decade, but two newcomers will start operating in 2024.

The Outstretched Arms of Jesus Christ

The Roma Ministry of the Diaconia of the Reformed Church in Hungary (RCH), held a conference and a professional day for the first time for all who are involved in Roma ministry throughout the Carpathian Basin. The event on November 15th was attended by pastors, professionals, colleagues, and co-workers.

Shared service for togetherness

“The common goal of our Christianity is for Roma and non-Roma Hungarians to live in peace and love with each other,” said Bishop Zoltán Balog on the ‘We Belong Together — Roma Integration Day’. During the event, the participants reviewed the results of the social inclusion program and shared their aspirations in round table discussions.

Possibility of renewing the relationship with God

Between March 19 and March 22, almost fifty people came together at Berekfürdő to share knowledge and participate in accredited training on contextual theology within the Roma Ministry of the Diaconia of Reformed Church in Hungary.

Let Us Open the Church’s Kitchen!

One of the Country’s most modern kitchens and day-care for people living with disabilities is moving in January 2019 to a new building. Six hundred meals are made, daily, in the kitchen, and given to those who are sick, homeless and/or disabled.
